Wanted: good ideas for play from Scottish Charities

Scottish Charities have three weeks left to apply to a new capacity building fund to help turn great ideas about play into a reality. The newly launched capacity building fund being delivered by Inspiring Scotland, is offering up to 18 months of tailored capacity building support for individuals within Scottish charities to develop new work which will help children aged 5 to 13 years benefit from more play.
The support offered will be unique to each applicant but could include:
• Business development support
• Development of strategic plans
• Marketing and sales development
• Business mentoring
• Training
• Funding to cover staff costs during development

Collaborative applications would be welcomed.

The fund will not be able to support applications for core funding or service delivery.

Speaking about the capacity building fund, Andrew Muirhead, Chief Executive Inspiring Scotland said:  “We are very excited to be able to continue to support the Scottish play sector over the next three years and this capacity building fund is one small way which we will do this.    “This fund is about finding ideas which have the potential to make a big difference and we will provide a range of support to help turn them into a reality, ensuring more Scottish children have the opportunity to have a happy and healthy childhood.”

If you’ve got an idea and would like support to turn it from a concept into a reality download the criteria document from Inspiring Scotland’s website and phone Inspiring Scotland to discuss your idea with a member of staff.
