Argyll and Bute Council Third Sector Asset Transfer Information Event, is being held in Council Chambers, Kilmory Castle, Lochgilphead, on Tuesday 27th August from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The audience will be compiled of Third Sector Organisations from across Argyll and Bute, Community Councils and Council Officers.
John Swinney MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth will be joining Sally Loudon, Chief Executive of the Council as a guest speaker.
The Third Sector Asset Transfer process has been adopted as Council policy and fits with the objectives of the Scottish Government’s developing Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the Council’s new Third Sector Asset Transfer process and to highlight the potential of how asset ownership can assist in building sustainable communities. There will be presentations from the major funders including BIG Lottery, Heritage Lottery, Scottish Land Fund and LEADER, together with a market place providing relevant support information and extensive opportunities for networking.
Third Sector organisations , which may have an interest in community asset acquisition and management, are being offered the opportunity to attend the event.
