The conference is open to all Third Sector organisations in Argyll & Bute as well as ABSEN members and friends across the social enterprise network.
The event kicks off at 09:45am on Monday 24th March and features a guest speaker, sessions on the Third Sector Partnership, and Community Economic Development as well as workshops on Procurement, Social Media, Good Governance, Marketing, Leadership & Barriers to Growth, and Partnership Working.
We are also planning a soap box session where a number of organisations will have 10 minutes each to promote the services they can provide. The first day closes at 5pm with the conference dinner at 6pm followed by the ABSEN Dragon’s Den Competition at 7:30pm. The value of prizes for the Dragon’s Den currently stands at £1800 and this includes consultancy and business mentoring and cash prizes to be decided on by the “Dragons”.
Day 2 begins at 8:30 with a Policy Breakfast hosted by Social Enterprise Scotland. This session will be followed by an update on ABSEN activities and a session delivered by SENSCOT on their Thematic Groups and how these groups can assist organisations based in Argyll & Bute. Prior to lunch there will be an opportunity for organisations to raise any issues they wish to discuss with a panel drawn from organisations supporting the conference. The workshops in the afternoon will include – Fundraising, Risk & Uncertainty, and Raising the Profile of Social Benefit. This will be followed with a show case of some local enterprises promoting the work they do and services they provide in the area. The conference will close around 4pm with the presentation of ABSEN’s Social Enterprise Awards for 2014.
We do hope you will join us for what should be a very interesting and enjoyable event.
