Andrew MacLean of Partnerships For Wellbeing is working on a project for NHS Highland (which covers the Argyll and Bute area). Part of the project is to identify the community groups which are doing work in the area of supported self-management for people with long term conditions. These conditions could be such as MS, Arthritis, Diabetes, Epilepsy, etc. There is no definitive list and it could mean anything which a person suffers from for over a year. He is looking to identify groups that are open to/aimed at people with long term conditions and/or do something which people with long term conditions could take part in. This could range from swimming classes to shinty to drama to reading, anything really.
