Welcome to AVA Kintyre & Islay

Maryanne Stewart  met up with the people who had done the Step course recently.  All said how much they had enjoyed and benefited from the course. One said she now had much more confidence in dealing with what life throws at her. Another had applied for two jobs. All were happy to recommend the course to friends and family.

During the last few months there has been a hive of activity in the Campbeltown office.

We held our Halloween Spooktacular on 29th October.

Everyone enjoyed a rotten refreshment while chatting & finding out about AVA.

A Timebank member has been helping tutor another member with his English.

Our regular Timebank members have been helping out in the office. Their help is always very much apprieciated.

Up To Our Volunteers In It!

AVA & it’s Volunteers have been working with Kintyre Youth Enquiry Service, Campbeltown Organic Garden & Dalintober Residents Association to tidy up & plant herbs/flowers in the Dalintober Millknowe Residents Association garden at Broom Cottage. A mix of young & old Volunteers came together to prove just what you can do when working as a team.

AVA has had stalls at the Agricultural Show, MOKfest & Farmers Market.

Strawberry Tea Event

New & exisisting Volunteers enjoyed the fruits ( with cream ) of the Community Organic Garden on 6th July. It was also a chance for people to meet the new member of staff – Pat Dean, & to found out what had been going on in the centre.

You will find the June addition of our  kintyre islay newsletter june. It’s packed with all the latest info. So sit down, put the kettle on and have a look.

 STEPS COURSE JUNE 2010

7 participants completed the Campbeltown STEPS course which ran for 5 days.

For  the individuals, it was an opportunity to take a fresh look at their lives.  They are helped to move beyond where they have become stuck to more fulfilling and successful lives.

The programme helps people to see how much they are truly capable of achieving and offers the tools to make it happen.

The participants with Maryanne Stewart and Rory Colville
