Getting Together

A good afternoon was had by all at the People Plus Celebration event which was held on 31st March. A good crowd had gathered in the Community Centre.  The event was well attended with a mix of Ex-Steps Participants, Vbay Volunteers and Timebank members. Young and old alike were there to soak up the positivity in the room.

2 previous steps Participants were showcasing their talents at the event. Jackie had a display of her jewellery which she now runs as a business. “Doing the steps course really boosted my confidence. It got me thinking that I could start my own business. It is only small at the moment but it is growing all the time. I would defiantly recommend the course to anyone else.”

Sandy had a display of his knitwear which he has started to produce for helping with fundraising. “After going on the steps course I found I was more motivated to go out and help others. I also have found the strength to confront some personal demons.”

Maryanne Stewart who was the Facilitator for the course discussed about reminding ourselves about scotomas.  Many of the participants were finding satisfaction from giving compliments as often as they could and were now more gracious at receiving them.

Some guests who had not completed the steps course showed a keen interest in attending the next one.
