Welcome to Bute Health & Wellbeing Network (Partners in Health)

The Bute Health and Wellbeing Network (Partners in Health) is a group of organisations which work together to promote and support the health of Bute residents.

Working as a network helps to avoid overlap of services, and makes the most of the funds available both from the local Health Improvement Fund, which is administered by the Network, and from individual funds in each organization.

One of the recent projects funded by the Network is to provide Youth Diversionary Activities which include residential trips and Quiz Nights on health topics such as smoking and alcohol.

Another is funding for joint events like the annual Take Time Fair which covers a huge range of health and well-being programmes from healthy eating and exercise to recreation, education and careers as well as events on Active Ageing, Falls Prevention and Mental Health and Wellbeing.

As well as these, the Network covers a large number of ongoing programmes from encouraging breast-feeding to reducing smoking and obesity in the community.

The Partnership has also focused on developing Forums to tackle various issues and these are now working very well.  These include the Bute Drugs and Alcohol Forum, the Youth Activities Forum and the Bute Forum for Older Voices.

The updated Joint Health Improvement Plan for 2010/2011 was updated following a well-attended workshop and the new Plan is available here.
