The first of our regular monthly meetings will take place on September 12th 2016 at 7.30pm in the Red Cross Centre, Lochgilphead.
We will start the new session with our treasurer, Sheila Cameron talking on the subject of tracing family history. Sheila has agreed to advise us on sources available to access information and how to go about starting our search. Refreshments will be served and group matters discussed after Sheila’s talk.
The October meeting on the 10th will be a talk on benefits by Gillian McInnes from the Citizens Advice bureau. This will be followed by a chance to ask questions about the information on benefits for carers and patients and about other help available to anyone who deserves it.
Our speaker for the evening of 14th November will be Anne Thomas and her subject will be Ecuador and The Galapagos Islands.
The December meeting will be our annual Christmas dinner with the proposed date being the 12th of the month. The venue is still to be decided and will be discussed at our first meeting on 12th September 2016.
We will continue to meet at the Rumblin’ Tums Cafe for coffee and a chat if you wish to come along and join us. We meet from 2-3pm most Wednesday afternoons.
