Kirk Session Forward Plan 2011 – 2012

Our Vision

North Knapdale Parish Church is a church focussed on people, not buildings, however we are committed to the maintenance and provision of buildings within the Parish to provide accessible places of worship and to facilitate our outreach within the community and our aspirations for a family friendly church environment.
We are committed to see a church in our Parish grow and develop, to be relevant to the people who live within it, and to be a meaningful presence for God and His purposes.
We want our church to have an increased impact on our local communities, and to increase the activity and involvement of members in the life and work of the Church.
We have a vision for all in our Parish, particularly children and young people for more to share with us in the Church’s life and witness, and for them to feel something of God’s love in their lives.
We want our Church to be recognised as:

  • A busy, vibrant, caring church
  • Somewhere  residents and visitors want to come to worship.
  • A place where all are assured of a warm welcome and fellowship.
  • An organisation which plays its full part in the life of the community, particularly in addressing some of its social and pastoral needs.

Our Aims

The Kirk Session has identified the following aims for the growth and development of the Church’s activities and influence in our communities.

1. Remain alert to the needs of our Communities, working to address identified needs as resources allow.
2. Encourage membership.
3. Ensure church services and other activities provide opportunities for developing faith and worship.
4. Explore opportunities for children’s and young people’s ministries.
