The Sensory Garden needs your help ………

Now that the garden is constructed we invite our community to become involved and assist in keeping the  garden blooming over the years to come.  You do  not have  to be an expert gardener, just willing to give a few hours of your spare time.  The committee of OCSG want to see this garden as  a hub of activity for the community and a haven for locals and visitors to  appreciate the environment around them.    Keep up to date with activity by visiting our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter @obangarden

Latest activities at the garden

 Sunday 19th July – BIG lunch at the garden.  Great time had by all including Digi AL who was seen in the undergrowth trying to get into the lolly jar!    Don’t forget switchover to digital on 13th October

and 27th October.

Oban Community Sensory Garden – official opening – Monday 31st August 2009.  

On a very wet night we welcomed the wider community to our opening , this event was greatly enhanced by  three pipers  who are all members of Oban High School Pipe Band.  Our thanks to you for making a great night even better.

 The Sensory garden evolved from a community building event asking people to choose something  which they felt  would develop greater community capacity and social inclusion for people with disabilities. Little did the people at the consultation realise the hurdles ahead  to achieve a garden which is  accessible to all.  The committment of those original volunteers has come to life.

OCSG would not have be able to progress construction  withouot the assistance of various funding bodies. Our thanks to you all  – National Lottery, Gannochy Trust, En trust, SNH, A& B Council, Tesco and Co op Community funds, Biodiverity A & B and NBTH and of course the local community  and businesses who has supported all our fundraising events.
